Page |2 RE-UNION ( from Page 13) Reeve Harness gave the formal welcome from the town, introducing his council and the hydro board mentioning that Mrs. Mary Jarva,a native, was the first woman clerk-treasurer and Jack Gordon also a native, is assistant clerk. During religious services Rev. Cano dedicated the Schreiber Scout colors, asking the entire audience to take the oath of allegiance with the Scouts. Following the service of worship Mrs. Lester Mc- Cuaig, chairman of the centennial committee, spoke introducing her committee: Mrs. Gordon Mc- Parland secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Charlie Pearson, Mrs. Tom Whent, Mrs. A.W.Slater, and Mrs. Wes- ley Clemens. In an informal way the school board and other associations were presented, relating them by name to earlier families as they rose and bowed, so the audience could identify them and realize how local offices were being carried on by the younger gen- eration. Many corsages and boutonnieres were presented to their surprise and the audience' obvious pleasure. Guest speaker The Honorable George Wardrope, M.L.A. was introduced by Gino Caccamo, pres- ident of the local Conservative Association. Dr. Arthur Lavender, a former minister of the United Church also spoke briefly. The evening ended with a visiting hour. Monday was Open House in every home in town ard again a dance this time for the teenagers while the older generation again met at a tea sponsored by the men of the United Church. On Tuesday a Pioneers' Tea was held in the Guild Hall, attended by everyone in town, prepared by the United Church women and served by the Cath- olic Girls' Club with everyone wearing centennial gowns. By common consent the special prizes for the biggest family gatherings were presented to the Riley, McBride, Fummerton, Bourguignon, and McCuaig families. Mrs. McCuaig read a cable from Norton McCuaig in Falkirk, Scotland; Webb Struthers, Midland, Ontario; and Mrs. Ben Daniels (Auntie Pearl to everyone in Schreiber) of Fort William expressing their regret in being unable to attend the reunion.
