The religious pageant, The May Crowning of The Blessed Virgin Mary, took place at the Sunday evening service May 27 in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church with 48 girls of th e Catholic Girls' Club enacting the Living Rosary. Mary Lou Karns was the bride with Betty McGuire and Colleen Cosgrove bridesmaids and Kim Karns, flower Girl. 'Joanne Sparks celebrated her |Oth birthday on June 1 by having the following friends for a party-- Mary Ra chel Lang, Alda and Maxine Holland, Linda Searles, Judy Lengyel and Jane Davis. Mrs. David Nesbitt, Mrs.Leonard Huard and Mrs .Joe Molinski came to coffee and cake later in the after- noon. Jack Rattray is home after a long stay in Port Arthur hospital . Photo by I.McCuaig ANNUAL INSPECTION - CADET CORPS The annual inspection of Schreiber High School cadet corps #2201 took place May 29 with Capt.1. G.Wright, C.D., of Winnipeg as inspecting officer Following inspection and march past F.N.C.1. (rifle) stripping and assembly; L.N.G. (Bren) strip- ping and assembly and First Aid displays were pre- sented. Award for Best Cadet went to Brad Halonen with Capt.Wright presenting a personal gift; Tom Mc- Grath received the Commanding Officer award, presented by L.R.McCuaig and D'Arcy Moorey the First Aid award, presented by Mrs.Helen Jartus, class instructor . Capt .Wright commended the corps and told them the discipline, co-operation and leadership training will stand them in good stead all their lives. He urged them to continue their education and hoped they would enjoy summer training at cadet camps. These fortunate corps members are D'Arcy Moorey going for six weeks to Centennial Scout Camp at Farnham, Que., from where a trip to Expo is plan- ned; Ivan and Justin Martin, Pat McParland and Bob Hiller will attend a six week course in Vernon B.C. Going to Clear Lake, Alta for junior leader- ship two week courses will be Greg Maclsaac, Bill Hiller, Clayton Gordon and Gordon Ellicott. Capt.Wright was accompanied by Staff Serg. J. Walters. Schreiber cadets are sponsored by the school board with Capt.J.D.Bobka, chief instructor Major E.E.Forgues, C.D., principal and Boyd Drake, civilian instructor . Following inspection coffee and cake was served in the lib rary for guests and cadets.
