GOSPEL MISSION Sunday School at 2 P.M. every Sunday FINE DISPLAYS AT HORTICULTURAL SHOW Terrace Bay Horticultural Society held its annual Flower and Vegetable Show in the Arena on August 27th. Judges were Mr.Fred Macdonald and Mr. James Gibb. The exhibits were divided into eleven sections with grand prizes for the aggregate winner in each. In addition a silver flower bowl was awarded for the highest total aggregate points, together with the Society's trophy. The Neil Duncan and John Fer- rier Awards were also keenly competed for. Section | -House Plants was won by Mrs .Alice Farrow; Section 2-Annuals, by Mrs .Farrow; Section 3-Biennials, by John Steen; Section 4- Perennials by Mrs.A.Cadieux who also won Section 5-Dahlias; Sectton 6-Gladiolas was won by J.Steen who also won the Neil Duncan Award for best single spike-- an award he has long coveted. Section 7-Collec- tions, was won by Mrs .Farrow while Mrs .1.Marsh won Section 8-Displays and Floral Arrangements. Mrs .Farrow won Sec .9-Begonias and Roses and Mrs. E.Connors won Sec.10-Fruit. Section 11-Vege- tables, probably attracted the greatest numb er of entries with exotic crops such as kohl-rabi and ex- cellent specimens of the more common varieties. An amazing total of nineteen first and twenty-two seconds gave Mrs.Alice Farrow the grand trophy as overall winning exhibitor. The Society President thanked both the exhibitors and those who came to admire the skill shown by mem bers of the society. Nine door prizes were given away during the evening.
