All ladies who can should meet at the Clubhouse at approx- imately one o'clock this Thursday, July 4th. It is only through the cooperation and interest of all members that these tournaments and the club in general, will be a success. Beginning golfers should not hesitate to take . part in these tournaments as they will receive the maximum handicap, thus putting everyone on an equal basis. LADIES GOLF NEWS Congratulations to Isabel Ferrier who won the ladies' opening tournament with a four stroke lead | over the nearest competitor. After a brave at- tempt by the twelve golfers on Saturday, the tournament was postponed a day on account of the downpour. Lois Shubaly claimed second prize and the low and high hidden holes were won by Liz Burns and Dot Koski respectively. Now that our club has grown to over forty GORDIE HOW VISIT TERRACE. BAY The high regard which the youngsters (and quite a few older folk) o° Terrace Bay have for Gordie How of the Detroit Redwings, was very evident last Friday . Scheduled to arrive in Terrace Bay to attend a luncheon sponsored by the local minor hockey = association at 12.30 , Gordie and his entourage were over an hour late.
