CENTENNIAL REPORT (Continued from page 5) We are planning many special events such as floodlighting special areas, street dancing, special sporting events, festivals (both local and ethnic groups), interfaith thanksgiving services, monster fall fair and biggest July Ist celebration ever. There will be beard growing contests for men depic- ting their forebears of 1867 and also dress contests for young and old, of that era. We would like to extend a special invitation to our ethnic groups to supply themselves with native costumes and parti- cipate in special festival events of the year. AFTERNOON AUXILIARY REPAIRS CHOIR GOWNS The March meeting on Monday, March 31st opened with the hymn 'Breath on Me Breath of God; with Mrs.May Dorland in the chair. Minutes of the last meeting and committee reports were read by Helen Brooks in the absence of. Secretary, Mrs.L .Harris. A letter from the Christian Education Committee was read confirming that three new leaders for th e C.G.I.T. were urgently needed before next Septem- ber. Discussion of the proposed sale of maple syrup re- sulted in Mrs.Lois McCausland being put in charge. Anyone interested should contact Mrs. McCausland - 3234 or watch for coming advertisements. During the work period choir gowns were inspected and those in need were repaired. Lunch for the meet- ing was convened by Mrs.Almos and Mrs.J.Garrioch. At the April meeting it is planned to count Canada Packer Labels and to pack clothing for crippled civil- ians. LADIES CURLING NEWS The Terrace Bay Ladies 12th Annual Curling Bonspiel commences this weekend, March 25-26-27 on Friday at 11.00 A.M. This 'spiel is the final big event to wind-up ladies curling for the season. Competing will be rinks from Port Arthur, Fort William, Schreiber, Red Rock, Rossport, Terrace Bay, Marathon and Heron Bay South. Spectators are cordially invited to come to the club and en- joy the curling and join in the spirit of the 'spiel but, due to lack of space, the social Saturday even- ing has to be restricted to men or lady curling members along with wives, husbands or escorts. Any curler who is not curling in the bonspiel but would like to attend the banquet Saturday evening is asked to please contact Mrs.P.Kelty as soon as possible so arrangements can be made. The regular evening curling finished the last RIDE WANTED - ride for young man going to Toronto Easter weekend. Please phone 3360.
