Photo by W.Morril| LOCAL COUPLE LEAVE FOR WEST COAST Mr .and Mrs .Russell Skinner who are leaving Schreiber to make a new home in Victoria, B.C., were entertained at a tea arranged in the United Hall by friends. Receiving with Mr.and Mrs. Skinner were Mr.and Mrs.Verl Thompson of Ter- race Bay and Mrs.Jack Corbett of Schreiber. On behalf of their friends Mr.Miller and Mrs. Moore presented two paintings, a cut glass vase, a set of Blue Mountain Pottery (bowl and candle- sticks), a Sunburst living room clock and a smoking stand. ~ Tea was poured by Mrs.Russell McBride and Mrs. Tom Whitton, Mrs.R.Winters and Mrs.Nelson Smith. Mrs.Wesley Miller was dining room hos- tess and servitors were Mrs.J.D.Smith, Mrs.Ar- nold O'Keefe, Mrs.Geo.A.Scott, Mrs.Con Duggan Replenishing were Mrs.Walter Murphy, Mrs.Harry Duggan, Mrs.Della Moore, Mrs.H.W.Gellert and Mrs .Frank McKenna. Mr.and Mrs.Skinner were entertained at a fam- ily dinner party when Mrs .Skinner received a travelling umbrella and Mr.Skinner a tie and clip. Attending were Mrs.G.A.Scott and family, Mr. and Mrs. V.Thompson and daughter, Mr.and Mrs. Pringle Plumber, Mr.and Mrs.Dominic Figliomeni, Mrs .Percy Sully, Mr.and Mrs.Eugene Legault and Peter, Mr.and Mrs.Innes West, and Mr.and Mrs. Doug Reynolds and family. Mrs.J.D.McCoshen visited her daughter, Mrs. Hilary O'Brien last week, enroute home to Fort Williani after visiting her son Cleve and his fam- ily in Montreal . F .V.HARNESS RE-ELECTED BY ACCLAMATION An uncontested victory went to F.W.Harness when he was returned as Reeve by acclamation for another term. Schreiber voters will, however, be asked to choose two councillors from the three contestants, !.M.McGrath, J.M.Perrault and R. B.Spadoni. E.(Gino) Caccamo and J.E.Stokes are running for the one eligible seat on the Hydro Commission and a record number (six) candidates are running for the three vacant places on the Public School Board. Public School supporters will have to choose fhe three from among Mrs.J.D.Bryson, Roland Gander, Mrs.Eva Gordon, Mrs.E.(Beth) Mac- Adam, Mrs.Dorothy E.Rummer and civil engineer Wm .Tripp. Elections are slated for December 13th and all those eligible to vote are urged to get out and sup- port the candidates of their choice. DUTCH SETTING FOR ENROLMENT CEREMONY The Brownie packs held an enrolment ceremony on Wednesday evening, using a Dutch setting. The quaint mill was guarded by Mary Jo Ryan and Tony Tremblay in Dutch costume and a bed of tulips was the foreground around which the Brownie Ring gathered for the ceremony. Before taking the oath and repeating the Brownie Law, Tweenies Jane Ann Rejnard, Linda Searles, Debbie Wilkinson, Rae Sisson and Mary Rachel Lang were given Dutch hats and aprons. The Brownies greeted them singing a Windmill song. Brown Owl Mrs.Giovanni Cebrario introduced new leaders Mrs. Bill Niemi and Mrs .Richard Die- trich. She also described recent changes in the Brownie rules whereby girls seven and eight may now be enrolled. Training books for leaders are also somewhat changed. The Brownie prayer was given by Karen Glad. Golden Bars were pre sented to Elda Holland, Alma Cenerelli, Brenda Cebrario, Sus an McPar- land and Darlene Guillet. Golden Hand Awards will be pre sented at the January open meeting. Sixer and Seconder stripes were presented to Betty Ann Huard, Judy Parent, Diane Huard and Cathie Anderson, Cathy McGuire and Laura Camp- bell, Debby Cook and Laura McParland, Darlene Guillet and Dawn Dietrich. Proficiency badges for projects undertaken on their own initiative, _ another new ruling, were presented to Sharon Scott and Dawn Dietrich. Service stars were presented--for five years to Continued
