(Carl G .Jung) Tyranny and communism are the resultant effects of the enchained servitude of the masses and only individualism returns freedom to man. Individuality is an asset, a vital part of humanity, man's reason for invention, development of society and personal achievement. As Henry Giles said, "Human faculties are common but that which converges these faculties into my identity, separates me from every other man--that other man cannot think my thoughts, speak my words, do my works, ...he cannot have my sins and | cannot have his virtues." INDIVIDUALISM - By Debora Stewart - Grade 11 God made every man equal, but no man the same. Each of us is an individual, unlike any other man, a unique design in the pattern of the world. Indi- viduality necessitates a knowledge of what you be- lieve to be right and the desire to remain firm in your convictions at the expense of being different. It is not, as it is sometimes believed, the act of being different. Each man has been placed upon the earth to improve the whole society of man by "his individual actions. A man must first realize what he is then he must build on that which he posses and thus attain perfection. It is not essential that a person does all that he wants but that he wants all that he does. However, though each person must seek salvation alone, though he must discover for himself who he is and what his purpose for living is, man lives in a society of other men, each an individual like him- self. We must first learn self-respect, then respect of our fellow man in order to harmonize with others of our species. Still, we must not lose ourselves in the mass.for the mass crushes out the insight and re- 4o TRICK TO GOOD EATING Wity THESE HOME MADE CABBAGE ROLLS AND PYROHY - Ukrainian ON SALE SAT,, NOVEMBER 13 th, WHEN ORDERING PLEASE STATE TIME YOU, WISH ORDER TO BE DELIVERED, AND ALLOW 1 hr.
