Debbie Jolicoeur was given a surprise farewell party in the home of Linda Birch and the afternoon was spent in games, after which Mrs. Birch served lunche. Debbie received gifts from the schoolmates and other friends who attended--Debbie Lidkea, Karen Glad, Alanna Power, Sharon Scott, Linda Lidkea, Geraldine McBride, Debbie Reid, Janet Richardson, Beth Crawley, Terry Lynn Birch and Isley Crawley. Visiting with Mr.and Mrs.Reg Yates are Mr.and Mrs.Wm.Quarrell, Mrs.F.J.Ferguson and John Quar rell of Fort William. Last week Mr.and Mrs.Art Yates and daughter Betty of Brandon were their guests Mr.and Mrs.Lloyd Sparling of Cobden, Ont. and Miss Geraldine Graham, enroute from Toronto to a new position in Fort William, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs.Harold Gellert. Mr.and Mrs.Ken Himes and family are visiting relations in Nova Scotia. The attendance prize at the Catholic Parent-Tea- chers' Association meeting on Oct.2I was won by Mrs .Dominic Figliomeni's room--grade 1. The new staff was introduced by Father J.M.Cano with R.T.Campbell chairing the meeting. Fifty attended and a lengthy discussion was held on safety of the children going to and from school in the area of the intersection at Winnipeg and Columbia Streets. Lunch was served by Mrs.Paul Gauthier's commit- Tee. Roll call at the October meeting of the Women's Institute was answered by boxes of cards to be used by the visiting committee. Mrs.Wesley Miller was in charge of the meeting in the absence of Mrs.Chas. Todesco who is in hospital . A wreath for Remembrance 'day was ordered and will be placed by Mrs.Miller. .A donation was made to the muscular dystrophy fund. Mrs.Nelson Smith read a paper (see column |)
