Mrs. Dorothy Rafalant is to be the official delegate to the annual meeting of the Lake Superior International Highway Association in Duluth, Oct.23. It was decided the Ter- race Bay Chamber of Commerce would again advertise in the Lake Superior International Highway Association publication, requesting a picture of the gorge to be included. These publications reach all points on the Circle Rotte. Both the President and Township Council's representative, Councillor Ed Cavanaugh, had been contacted by Schreiber citizens asking that a brief be presentedoan the re- moval of the CPR'S Dominion. Lester Crandlemire thought we had not been vocal enough on insisting that service be maintain- ed and improved and not cease altogether and that it was the government's responsi- bility to give us this service. The Chamber will prepare a brief and present it to the Transport Commission. The Committee to prepare this brief will be headed by N. Corn- thwaite with Jack Kelty, Lester Crandlemire Ed Cavanaugh and Roy Bray. Neil Cornthwaite and Roy Bray will attend the meeting of the Upper Lake Superior Travel Council to be held in Port Arthur on THE NEWS on October 21. It was brought to the Chamber's attention that new citizens to this community were not being recognized and Jack Kelty will supply the local paper with a list of the new resi- dents who will receive a copy of the News and greetings. Councillor Ed Cavanaugh advised that he will be holding an organizational meeting for the Centennial program early in Novem- ber and asked for the Chamber's support. The Chamber -will purchase a wreath for the Remembrance Day services. A motion was passed and will be presentedto Council for consideration in adequate time before the elections, requesting partial daylight saving for the summer. The next meeting will be held Nov. 18th at 7.30 P.M. in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. A reminder was given members that the slate of officers must be ready in December for the January elections. We extend a welcome to Mr.and Mrs. W. Slomke of Fort William who have taken up residence at 503 Lakeview Drive. Mr. Slomke is employed by Ontario Hydro here. Chester Dakin is being treated in McKel- lar Hospital, Fort William.
