October 21, 1965 THE NEWS THE JUNIOR GAME (by Roddy Mercure) Football fever rippled like wildfire down the lines of cheering spectators. Terrace Juniors filed onto the field in their green and white uniforms followed by the visiting Schreiber team in yellow. Terrace's offensive team received the. kickoff and went into action but Schreiber superbly blocked Terrace's attempts. Schreiber gained possession but they couldn' make the big play and the game swayed from side to side. Schreiber played a fast passing and running game while Terrace resorted little to passing and stuck with the running game during the first half. A whistle sound- ed and the first half ended in a scoreless tie. Schreiber received the kickoff and neared the goal steadily. In a well executed play they gained the first T. D. but failed to con- vert. Minutes later a long pass resulted in a second T.D. but again Schreiber was chea ted of the convert by Terrace's blocking. Terrace had possession now and fought des - parately to tie the score. The action packed and hard hitting game ended before our boys could even the 12-0 defeat. In the line-up for Wednesday's game in Schreiber are Greg Chesley, Keith Koski, Ted Brown, Dave Shivas, Don Gerow, Rod Mercure, Ted Petrus, Reid Boutilier, Geo. Dashkewytch, David Cruickshank, Tom Knight, Paul Papousek and Ernest Uzicanin. Undaunted, Terrace Bay Juniors are prac t ising for the big game in Schreiber and this promises a lot of excitement. A LONELY HOUSE The lonely house by the lonely sea, A useless ruin it seemed to be With its broken windows for all to perceive Lacking its warming, wooden door A house it seemed to me no more. With moss in the cracks along the wall, And branches on the roof covering all A lonely word it seemed to call. With not a rug on the barren floor A house it seemed to me no more. How bare the house did seem inside, With just an old decaying hide And a fireplace to my side. Only an ant-eaten bore A house it seemed to me no more. - Reid Boutlier - Gr.9A Former resident, Mrs. A.
