- October 7, 1965 ART CLUB NEWS Mr. Alex Millar, noted Canadian artist and instruc tor conducted a weekend workshop at Terrace Bay, Mr. Millar who instructs at the Ontario College of Art is on a years leave of absence and is touring North Western Ontario. Leaving Terrace he is to stop in Nipigon, Fort Frances and Rainy River where he will conduct classes. Then he travels to Bermuda for an extended holiday. Attending the course from Schreiber were Mrs. Marya Johnston, Mrs. Pat Beno; from Nipigon, Mrs. Marg Hedican, Mrs. Anne Scollie, from the Lakehead Mrs. Red Evans, Mrs. Lorna Brown, Mrs. Freeway and s. Humphreys from Red Rock. Miss Helen Zschokke from Beadmore. Attending from Terrace Bay Club were Mrs. Diane Briscoe, Mrs. Glenna McDonald and Mrs. Sadie Gaulin. NOTE: - The Terrace Bay Art Club will hold their regular business meeting on Thursday, October 7, 1965 at 8:00 P.M. in the Arts Centre. All members and prospective members are invited to attend. CATHOLIC GIRLS' CLUB MEET The Catholic Girls' Club met in St. Martin's Parish Sunday, October 3rd, to recite the Rosary for a suc- 'cessful and safe journey for Pope Paul IV. The regular monthly meeting took place in the Church Hall immediately afterwards. The first Vice- President, MissSuzanne LeMay opened the meeting with prayers. The new members were welcomed, also the new Catholic Women's League representative, Mrs ENJOY anksgiving THE NEWS a Page 5 F.A. Helmink. Treasuere and Membership Convenors gave their reports. The group decided to meet twice a month, on first and third Sundays. Dues would remain the same, ten cents a month and fifty cents a year membe ship. They will receive Communion in a group the first Saturday every month wearing their uniform. Mrs. Helmink spoke briefly on the Club's Constitu tion and it was decided to change one section to read "All girls age thirteen years of age or any age in Grade eight, will be eligible to attend the Club up to the age of eighteen years. Father Gallagher thanked the outgoing executive and Catholic Women's League representative, Mrs. H. Boudreau, for their work in the past year. He went on to say the Club was expected to show a good example of Catholic action by attending the relig- ious instructions that would start the coming Tuesday Mrs. Helmink talked to the girls on appreciation of Mothers, telling them to thank their Mothers once in awhile for everyday things, clean clothes, prepared meals, clean homes; things normally taken for gran- ted, and not forgetting Dad for his part by providing finance to live well. The general meeting was then closed with Father's Blessing and prayers. The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for voting. Elected were: President - Diane Campbell, Vice- President -Lita Marie Boudreau , Treasurer - Carole Gaudet, Secretary - Judith McInnes, appointed to office by the new executive were: Spiritual - L.
