HOLDS ELECTION OF OFFICERS eC.G.I.1. of the Terrace Bay Community Church held their election of officers and installation for the coming year. Election of officers were as follows: President - Joanne Brown, Vice - Pres. - Meredith Coe, Secretary - Pat Dodge, Treasurer - Karen Lundberg. Mrs. Frank Anderson gave a talk on health, which the girls found most interesting. Plans were made for a weiner roast to be held this coming Wednesday. RECREATION NEWS ne hundred and thirty cyclists from Terrace Bay participaged in the recent Kiwanis Bicycle Rodeo held in the Terrace Bay Arena. In conjunction with the Rodeo, the programme consisted of a written examination, safety lectures, bicycle inspectionaind practical testing. Bob Hales, Kiwanis President, officially opened the Bicycle Rodeo with a few safety tips to the boys and girls on cycling, followed by Corporal James Doyle with his lecture on "Why Safety with Bicycles ?" The elementary winners Boys - Douglas Chisholm, 129 points. Girls - Jaonne Rajotte and Caroline THE NEWS Pa ell Yates, with 112 points each - a tie. The junior winners - Boys-= Patrick Papineau, who amassed the total of 192 points. Girls - Patricia Megraw, with 194 points. The winners were presented with trophies embbema- tic of top boy and girl cyclists in Terrace Bay. Surprisingly enough, the three elementary candi- dates competed against the junior class and did very well in all tests. These candidates, all 7 years of age, were competing against boys and girls 10 years of age and over, and came very close to winning the junior class. The Rodeo was well organized and supervised by Kiwanis members, and this is expected to be an annual event to be held in the Spring of the year. Safety literature, reflective tape and membership cards were distributed to all boys and Girls entering the Rodeo. JUNIOR HOCKEY Junior Hockey Assoication has been formed between Terrace Bay and Schreiber. Plans are under way for the formation of an executive from both com- munities. Games will be played this winter both in Schreiber and Terrace Bay, and the team. will be competingrin the North Shore Hockey League. The other teams represented are -3eraldton, Nipigon - Red Rock, and Schreiber - Terrace Bay. Cy Brassard has been named as the coach for the Junior team.
