A short, sharp discussion was spark- ed by Reeve Adamo who proposed to point out ta the Separate and Public school boards that they may appoint a representative to the High School board, thereby bringing the total num- ber of the latter Board up to five. The proposal was made following rep- resentation to the Reeve by citizens who felt the increase should be made. Councillor Cavanaugh did not at first see the need for the increase and Councillor Thompson made sharp refer- ence to the fact that increasing the number of members on the Public School board did not seem to have improved anything there as the ground are "a disgrace." Councillor Cavanaugh reported that he found attendance at the Mayor's and Reeve's Con vention very educational. One hundred and seven resolutions were passed, many of whic showed signs of pre-arrangement and lobbying and dealt with items of no special interest to us locally. Reeve Adamo, reporting on his interview with the government heads said that, of the four delegates pre- sent, only he was permitted to even talk as the other three representatives were from Improvement Districts. He said they were all very disappointed that George Wardrope did not attend the interview and give his promised support to their request. Council unanimously approved Reeve Adamo's stand and proposed actions in this regard. KIMBERLY-CLARK CONTEST - Continued from page 1 are reached.
