Tony Costa spent the weekend in Toronto, visiting his sister and family chose Captain Cooke's Adventurous Journeys and Guerard McGrath on spoke on the Wonders of HongKong. The attend ce price was won by Mr.Tony Speziale room-~an honor coveted by the students in that class. The draw prize, plastic baskets donated by Mrs. Costa, was won by Mrs.D.Huard. Lunch was served by Mrs.R.B.Spadoni's committee. BUSY BEES PRESENT HAT SHOW The Busy Bees of the Anglican Church held their Spring Hat Show in the town hall with the seven models displaying seventy designs for varied occasions Mrs.Gladys Madigan was commentator and the models were Miss Dorothy Slater, Miss Linda Lidkea, Mesdames Bob Krause, Bruce Lidkea, Wally Weaver, Alvin Slater and Cyril Sparkes. As an added attraction a counter of new Spring purses, gloves, scarves and jewellery was offered for sale. The guests, seated at tables, enjoyed tea andssmall 'cakes as the hats were shown. Mrs.Cyril Sparkes and Mrs. Geoff. Birch were called to Kakab eka on Sunday by the death of their father, the late Jack Ball. Mr.Sparkes and Mr. Birch accompanied their wives. Devona Leisander's name was inadvertently omit- ted from the Tweenie's list of girls recently received into the Brownie pack. Many old Schreiber friends attended the funeral of the late Clarence Cottam in White River on Sunday. During his working years as yardmaster in the CPR hards there Clarence was acknowledged past master in the art of the practical joke, so much enjoyed by railroaders. ; Mr.and Mrs.Michael Reed and son and seeing the NHL game. THEODORE WILSON BURIED IN SCHREIBER e funeral of the late Iheodore (Te ilson, aged 79, was conducted in St.John's Anglican Church by Rev. R.J.Inshaw. The hymns sung were Father To Thee | Come and Breathe On Me Breath of God, accompanied by Mrs. R.Inshaw. The funeral was under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br.109, with Gino Caccamo in charge of the guard of honor. Acting pall bearers were Bill Paradis, Brian Birch, Charlie Holmes, Bill Cocks, Gordon Willoughby and Milton Winters. Interment was in Schreiber Cemetery. Prior to the Church service the Legion and the 1.0.0.F. held their ritual for the deal in the funer- al home. Mr.Wilson, who came to Schreiber in 1910, re- tired in 1951 from CPR service, as a locomotive en- gineer. He was married to Lily Birch and they would have celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anni- versary in June this year. Besides his wife, Mr.Wilson is survived by one son, Wayne, and two grandchildren, of Schreiber, three sisters and two brothers, all in the United States. Attending the service from out of town were Mrs. Hazel Hurt of Chisholm, Minn. (sister), Mr.and Mrs.Ronald Birch of Markham, Mr.and Mrs. Wilfred Breffitt of Toronto, Mrs.Donald Ord of Syracuse, N.Y., Mr.and Mrs.J.Cosgrove and Michael of Marathon, Miss Marlene Birch of Port Arthur (all relatives), Mrs.G.R.Sterns, Mrs.John MacKinnon, Jeff, of Fort William, are visiting Mr. and Mrs.Edwin Holmes. have their granddaughter, Sheeley Holmes of Winnipeg with them.
