There are now over 50,000 girls in the ovement and over 5,000 volunteer leaders taking part across the dominion. This is an interdenominational group for girls 12 to 17 years of age inclusive. Girls meet in small groups with leaders planning and learning together. It's programme is based on the purpose (which be- comes the purpose of each girl. 'As a Canadian Girl in Training under the leadership of Jesus, it is my purpose to - CHERISH HEALTH - SEEK TRUTH - KNOW GOD = SERVE OTHERS - and thus, with His help, b ecome the girl God Would have me be.' Recreation, worship and projects in Bible Study, crafts and other activities encourage Christian growth and maturity. In Terrace Bay the first group of C.G.1.T.girls, 12 in number, was formed by Mrs.Mary Middaugh who held the meetings in her own home for two years. Interest has remained high in the Terrace Bay group with the help of a number of interested volun- teer leaders. Highlights of the C.G.I.T.year are the Vesper Service at Christmas and the annual Mother and Daughter banquet in May when the group are joined by the Schreiber C.G.I.T.
