A hamper draw was planned for the December meeting and members are asked to bring donations for a hamper for needy children. The attendance prize was won by Sister Edwina's room--Mrs.J.E.Stokes won the door prize (an elec- tric grill). Lunch was served by Mrs.R.B.Spadoni's committee. VOWS EXCHANGED IN HOLY ANGELS CHURCH The marriage of Elizabeth Marie Comeau, daugh- ter of Mrs. Armella Comeau and the late Lesley Comeau, and Raymond Wm. Potvin, son of Mrs. Alice Potvin, was solemnized in Holy Angels Roman Catho- lic Church on Nov.28th by Rev.J.M.Cano. Miss Carole Lalonde was organist and Giovanni Cebrario soloist. The bride, given in marriage by Mr.Lorenzo Levigne, chose a short dress of white angel mist taffeta over net and crinoline, with Empire bodice, scoop neckline and lily point sleeves. Her head- dress was lace applique sprinkled with seed pearls and her bouquet was a crescent of red roses. The bridal attendants were Mrs.Ray Cote and Miss Jo- Anne Comeau. They wore identical frocks of royal blue Peau de Suede with bell skirts and pop tops. Their head dress was a rose of same fabric with white veiling and they carried white shasta carna- tions. Ray Cote was best man and ushers were Neil Ver- doni, Buddy Lidkea and Joe Figliomeni. A wedding b reakfast was held in the Guild Hall and an afternoon reception was held there when Mrs. Comeau received in a royal blue double knit suit, small furred hat and back accessories. The groom's mother chose a lame sheath in midnight blue and silver, white feather hat and white accessories. Both had corsages of white feathered carnations. Tea was poured by Mesdames H.Duggan, R.Bedard R.B.Spadoni and G.Gauthier and servitors were Misses Wendy Weaver, Lise Ouelette, (see next col. THE NEWS December 3, 1964 LONG-TIME RESIDENT DIES The funeral of the late Alexander Lamb, aged 78, whose death occurred in hospital in Fort William was conducted in St.Andrew's United Church on Novem- ber 28th by Rev. D.F.Muldrew. Mrs. Bill Miller, great niece of the deceased, was organist and the hymns chosen were 'Rock of Ages' and 'Jesus Saviour Pilot Me'. Pall bearers were Alec and George Gordon (Nephews), Vic Costa, Edgar LeBlanc, Boyer Gagnon and George Martin (Terrace Bay). Inter- ment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr.Lamb is survived by his wife, one son, Gideon of Fort William, four daughters, Ruby (Mrs .Edward LeBlanc), Mima (Mrs.Frank Hight), both of Mon- treal, Margaret (Mrs.Garnet Leach ) of Fort William and Jessie (Mrs. Harvey McCanna) of Schreiber, with whom he made his home. There are also 18 grandchildren. Born in Scotland, Mr.Lamb had been a resident of Schreiber for 55 years and was well- known to everyone. He was a member of the United Church. Attending the funeral from out-of-town were Mrs. LeBlanc and Mrs. Hight of Montreal, Mr.and Mrs. Garnet Leach, Linda and Judy Leach and Gideon Lamb of Fort William, Mr.and Mrs.Edward McCan- na, Mr.and Mrs.Barney McCanna and Mr.and Mrs. Buckley Lord, all of Red Rock. Mrs.R.J.S.Inshaw received at the Christmas Tea and Bazaar of the women's auxiliary of St.John's Anglican Church on November 28th. Mrs .Robert Gray was cashier and the sewing table was in charge of Mrs.Ted Wilson and Mrs. Alvin Slater. Servitors were Mesdames H. Smith, R.Bailey, H.Johnson, R.Morrill, the Misses Dorothy Sly, Heather Tremblay and Jane Singleton. Mesdames Jack Rigeslford, Cyril Sparkes, Bruce Lidkea and Bill Furlonger replenished. Mrs.Neil Ross was the first victim of the iced streets, falling and breaking her ankle while on the way home at noon on Friday. For travelling the bride donned a brown suit and hat and gold accessories, her corsage of pink carna- tions. The couple will reside in Schreiber. BI-MONTHLY REPORT, ST .JOHN AMBULANCE Div.Supt., Mrs.Dorothy Rummery, presided for the meeting which opened with St.John Prayer. Routine business was dealt with quickly in order to give more time to practical work. Two new mem- b ers were welcomed into the Brigade and they will be installed in the ew year.
