MALE CHORUS DELIGHTS AUDIENCE The Fall Concert presented annually by the Terrace Bay Ments Chorus was again warmly received by a capacity audience Friday evening in the High School Auditorium. Welcomed by the Master of Ceremonies A. Chisholm and by the Chorus as they opened with the familiar, "Salutation", the listeners were delighted with renditions of "The Yellow Rose of Texas", "Anywhere I Wander", "It's A Grand Night for Singing", "Let There Be Music", "Lorena", 'Marching On", Hunter's Moont!, "Down In The Valley*t and "De Gospel Train". A new sound for Terrace was the description given by M.C. Mr. Chisholm in introducing "Bernie's Alpine Band. This Band proved to be an accomplished trio with Bernard Bzesckmann on the accordian, Bill Megraw and Bill Farrell with clarinets as they appeared twice to give selections of "Alpine" music. Sing Along with Bert" led by Conductor Bert Lohr was a happy audience participati on of old and familiar melodies and most exuber- antly chorused by the children present, who competed with a few verses of their very own. Following hearty applause, two encores, "Auralee™ and "Night Bells" closed the evening's program, and the audience were joined by the Chorus in acknowledging the new pianist accompanist, Brian Hubelit. The Afternoon Branch of the Ladies Auxilia will hold their Christmas party on Monday at 1:45, December 7th, in the Community Church. An exchange of gifts not exceeding one dollar will be held and ladies are asked to bring canned goods for the food hamper. Gary Fraser, Beverley Dodge, Pat Kennedy, Jackie Yates and Grant Solly were home from school at the Lakehead, visiting with their respective families over the weekend. SCHOOL PLANNING WORKSHOP _IN FORT WILLIAM Standard plans for schools, long a contro- versial subject among architects and educators windowless classrooms, school building costs, and construction problems in Northeastern Ontario will be among the topics to be dis- cussed at the second regional Workshop on School Design, to be held here on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 8th and 9th. School trustees and education officials, municipal representatives, architects, en- gineers, teachers and building contractors, along with others interested in school con- struction and costs, will take part in the conference, sponsored by the Division of School Planning and Research of the Ontario Department of Education. The meetings will held at the Royal Edward Hotel in Fort William.
