Cavanaugh. Parade Master was Comrade A.Theriault with color parties by Legionnaires and Auxiliary members. The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps was under their Commanding Officer, Lt.J.Cumming with Sub.Lt. D.Brearley and Sub.Lt.G.McKay in charge of their Honor Guard. A dinner for Veterans and guests was held Satur- day evening in the Moose Hall when the guest speaker was Comrade Gerry Poirier of Beardmore, the Public Relations Officer for this District. Com- rade Poirier in his speech on the origin of the Legion emphasized the importance of the groundwork laid by veterans of the first World War, and by which the veterans of the second World War and those to- day were still reaping the benefits. Dancing fol- lowed to the excellent music of the Drifters of Schreiber. SCOUTS (Continued) The annual father and son banquet was planned for this month--date to be set. The scouts and cubs will march to the cenotaph for Resnembrance Day ceremonies. Several projects are being planned--renovation of Lamont Lake camp and a display of work . Servitors were Mesdames N.McCuaig, A.C.Rigels- ford and Bill Kenny. Mesdames Ivan Johnson and Joe Potvin of Seven Islands, Que. is visiting his mother. Chuck Thrower of Woodstock has been visiting Mr. and Mrs .Bill Thrower. Christina, Francisco and Rosemarie Macchi of Pt. Arthur are visiting their grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. Frank Figliomeni. Mr.and Mrs.Edson Gunn and son Robby, with Mrs. Edward Glad of Ft.William, visited Mr.and Mrs. Bill Glad recently. Mrs.Alice Potvin was given a housewarming by nine friends who met in her new home to spend the evening and present her with a living room mirror. Bill Gerow, Jack Stokes, Pat Guina and Aurel Gauthier were in Port Arthur on Saturday to meet with Douglas Fisher, M.P. Mrs .T.P.Whent was hostess for a large number of friends who met in her home to present wedding gifts to Mrs .Bill Woodrow, a recent bride. TENDERFOOT SCOUT INVESTED Carl Wood and Pat McParland were the first boys this year to be invested as tenderfoot scouts by lan Cameron, District Scoutmaster, of Terrace Bay. The meeting was held in Holy Angels School auditor ium with Roly Wills, district commissioner, present. The Schreiber movement has recently been re- organized with J.R.Smith as chairman and the following officers: John Kenderdine, scout leader, Russell Campbell and Laurence Guf!let, assistant leaders; Mrs.George Riley, vice-president, Reo Nagasaka, treasurer and Mrs.Don Souliere, secre- tary. The scouts are sponsored by the Lions Club in Schreiber. There are at present two cub packs, some seventy registered, whose leaders are Ray Cote, John Paul Tessier, Jim Thormasing and Jack Finnbogasin.
