November 12 » 1964 ARENA SCHEDULE With most of the Arena groups underway, a final schedule for the season has been drawn up. Schedules for Minor Hockey and Figure .-- Skating have already been prepared and the Public Skating times appear below. These will only be changed in cases of emergency, Addi- tional skating times will be added during Christmas holidays. Wednesdays - 2:30 to 5:30 and 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Fridays - 2:30 to 5:30 pem. Saturdays - 4 to 5:30 and 7:00 to 9:00 pem, Sundays - 3 to 5 p.m. Weekly arena schedules are posted on the bulletin boards at the schools and Recreation Centre and should be consulted for possible changes. CHORAL LEADERS COURSE SUCCESSFUL Representatives from across the North Shore took part in a very successful Choir and Choral Group Leaders Course this past week end at the Recreation Centre. Co-sponsored by the Community Programmes Branch and the * Terrace Bay Recreation Association, the course offered concentrated instruction to area musical group leaders that should greatly in- crease their personal skills. It is hoped that a follow-up course may be held ata later date. Representatives from Manitouwadge, Matathoi Nipigon, Schreiber and Terrace Bay took part in the course. MEN'S CURLING CLUB NEWS Here it is men! REGULAR CURLING will begin ' Monday, November I6 at 6.30 P.M. Deadline for entry of rinks is 6.00 P.M. Friday, Nov.I3. Please give the names of your rink to Doug Knight ~ (Phone 3344). If you are not now on a rink but wish to curl, let Doug know. One third of your fees must be paid before Nov.I6, the balance by Jan. 23, 1965. There will be an Open Mixed Bonspiel beginning Friday, Nov.I3 to kick the season off. Please en- ter your rink as a unit--$4.00 per rink. Entries are limited to 16 rinks, and you must contact Jack | Chapman by 6.00 P.M., Thursday, Nov.l2. Com- plete rink - two men, nos women. High School Students are reminded that they have been allotted the ice on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4.00 P.M. to 6.00 P.M. but that they must not frequent the Club at other times. -- VETERANS PARADE - WREATHS LAID Led by Piper Sutherland, the veterans, members of Branch 223, Royal Canadian Legion and Auxiliary and Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Superior, paraded to the Cenotaph Saturday morning to do homage to the dead of two wars. The sun shone done warmly as heads bowed in prayer led by Very - Rev. Dean E.A.Gallagher, then rose to the Last Post and Reveille by Bugler Gould. Addressing those gathered around the Cenotaph, Dean Gallagher asked what it was we were to re- member, and why some men had loved freedom more than life, laying down their lives to keep us free. CAREERS NIGHT AT HIGH SCHOOL Over sixty students of Terrace Bay High Schoot, joined by several from Schreiber High Schoo}, at- -tended a careers discussion evening held in the High School, Thursday, November 5th. The young people had the opportunity to investi- gate three different occupational fields. Speakers for the evening were:- Mr.F.Robinson of.the Dept. of Lands and Forests; Mr. J.Proudfoot and Mr.R. Bray, of Geco Mines Ltd., Mr. H.L.Anderson-- Bell Telephone Company; Mr.L.Crandlemire-- Ontario Hydro; Mr.A.Chisholm--Kimberl y-Clark Pulp & Paper Company Ltd., and Fit.Lt.Howard of the R.C.A.F Recruiting Depot, Winnipeg.
