6" FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED Friends and relations of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Winters gather- ed in their home to offer congra- tulations on the occasio# pf the 50th wedding anniversary. A family dinner was held iz the Anglican Church hafl and a buffet supper in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Krause. Mrs. Krause is a daughter. Tea for the reception was poured by Mrs, Jack Corbett, Mrs. Frank Holland, Mrs, Ted Wilson and Mrs. Harry Wel- bourne. Daughter Mrs, Con Dug- gan was dining room hostess and Mrs, Gus Krause served the wedding cake. Servitors were Mesdames Mil- ton Winters, Donald Winters, Jack Winters, Don Beno, Bob Krause and Kay Hansen. Shirley Ann Winters was in charge of the guest book. Among the many gifts received were a television set from the family, a money tree from friends, and set of Corning ware from Reb- ekah lodge. Guests from out of town at- tending the occasion included Mr, and Mrs. John Pawluk, Win- nipeg; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mil- Jer, London; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. For the occasion Mrs. Winters chose a gown in brown and gold brocade, with corsage of gold- tipped carnations. The tea table was centred with gold mums offset by gold candles. Art Par- ent was in charge of the punch bowl. Inspection was carried out by Mrs, J. Micus, commissioner, who was accompanied by Bon- nie Hamilton, Gold Cord guide. Presentation of colors was fol- lowed by enrolment in a candle- lit ceremony, Mrs, Micus. for her address chose the "tree of guiding" as her topic. Mrs. Campbell thank- ed Mrs. Edna Cocks for accept- ing the position of lieutenant and spoke with regret in accept- ing the resignation of Mrs. Rob- erta Jolicoeur, who was lieute- nant since the Schreiber guides were formed. Mrs. Campbell also thanked the Catholic Women's League who sponsor the guide group in Schreiber. Those initiated were Margaret Borutski, Lynn Jolicoeur, Jane Bailey, Dale Sisson, Diane Singleton, Neldine West, Anne Marie McGrath, Brenda Ta- londe, Rosemary McParlana, Monica Gauthier, Ruth Fadden Cathy McLellan, Linda Comeau. The girls planned and served the lunch enjoyed by the many guests attending the event, REBEKAH LODGE TO SEND STUDENT TO N.YORK At their last regular meeting members of Ruby Reb- ekah Lodge agreed to send a student from this dis- trict to the United Nations Pilgrimage, a project sponsored annually by the |.0.O.F. The fund raising committee for this will be Mesdames Florence Whent, Jean Plummer, Helen Wallace, Chris Morris, Jessie Macadam, Agnes Bryson, Bern Whent, Florence Fischer and Jessie McCanna. The new officers Tea was set for Wednesda, Nov. I8th in the Town Hall. Mrs. N.Thrower presented a fifteen year jewel to Mrs.Jean Stitt. Correspondence included a letter of appreciation from the Muscular Dystrophy Fund and an invitation from Agate Lodge to attend their officers tea. Thank-you notes were received from Mrs. L.Hopper, and Mrs. J.Lawrence of Terrace Bay, Mrs.Orrel Wright of Beardmore and Mrs.Hubert Weaver.
