OPEN SOCIAL - CURLING On Tuesday night, November 3rd at P.M. the Ladies and Men's Curling Club are holding a mixed social. Men and Ladies -- curler or non-curler -- are cordially invited to attend. There will be a showing of three curling films--one of them on the Charlottetown MacDonald Briar Playdowns. There will be no ice available but a social will follow and refreshments. Everyone is welcome--see you there. ANNUAL MEETING - HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY The annual meeting of the Horticultural Society will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 8 P.M. in the Recreation Centre. Election of Officers will be conducted and reports of the district from director Bob Bell. CORNERSTONE CEREMONY - MASONIC TEMPLE An unveiling ceremony of the cornerstone at the recently completed Masonic Temple was held on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. A very formal program was prepared with organ music accompany- ing the singing of O Canada, a Hymn and the National Anthem. The District Deputy Grand Master of Algom a District, Rt.Wor.Brother O.R. T anner of Port Arthur and other Grand Lodge Offi- cers officiated at the ceremony. These included: Very Wor . Brother W.J.Judd of Port Arthur, Very Wor .Brother A.V .Chapman, Port Arthur, Rt.Wor. Brother A.|.McFarlane, Very Wor .Brother J. Stevenson of Kapuskasing. Rev. Brother T.G.Husser was Chaplain for the ceremony. The tools were presented to Wor . Brother E.S.Brown, Worshipful Master of the Lodge, along with the approved plans of the building. The cornerstone contains the names of Charter members, minutes of the first regular meeting in September, 1949, coins and other articles. Upon unveiling it the District Deputy Grand Master declared "This stone has been well made--truly laid--well proved and true and trusty." The Temple was opened after the ceremony for people to examine. Visiting Brethren present for the occasion included Brother D.C .Mason of Marathon, Wor .Brother A. KIWANIS ELECT NEW OFFICERS At their regular meeting held in the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel last Tuesday, the following officers were elected by members of Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club Incorporated:- President, Bob Hales - Vice- President, Neil Cornthwaite - Directors, Al Hartman, Rev.
