'It has been said, Father Cano remarked, that in a 20 year span, there have been only two when girls from Schreiber were not in training in St.Jo"s, Port Arthur. Father Cano adjured the girls to think of their mother, not as a 'law-maker' but as a woman, and to offer her companionship and love. "Not many of your mothers here tonight," he continued, "Have en- joyed girlhood with as much freedom and gaiety as you are having, but by confiding in her you can give her the illusion of being young again. The love, understanding and appreciation you give your mother will make your own life warm and happy and leave you with no bitter, useless regret when she has left you. Regular church attendance is one way to show others what your mother has done for you." Georgette LeBlanc thanked the speakers. Gifts were presented to Father Cano by Anna Fummerton and to directors Mrs.Shack and Mrs.H.Duggan by Marion Prescott and Betty Comeau.
