Goodfellow, Garnet Valiquette chaired the annual meeting Thursday evening of the Horticultural Society. Minutes of the last annual meeting were read by the Secretary, Mrs. R. Cotton and correspon- dence received. Mrs. A. Farrow gave the finan- dial statement for the year ending Oct. 31,1963 Annual reports were received from Chairman of the various committees. Mrs. E, Connors announced there were 219 members, an increase of fourteen. Mr. Valiquette reported on the Annual Flower and Vegetable Show, passing on the Judgets remarks and his own recommendation A further clause to the Society's By Laws was passed stating Professional persons may display only. St. Louis, A. Connors, H. Herme and A. Fraser. He closed with remarks on the fine display presented by the Junior Gardeners at the Annual Show. Ken Turner gave the Works Program report for the committee of himself, A. Farrow and W. Jones, listing their plantings at the Hospital Grounds, the triangle, and Kiwanis Flower boxes, together with future recommendations. The retiring President, Mr. Goodfellow had arranged all programs and publicity, and recom mendations were made to futher publicize the Society by erection of a sign at the Test Plot Mr. Turner, also read the report on Soils and Fertilizers, listing three ton, 600 1bs. and Jiffy Pots purchased and re-sold at Costi to members. Soil analysis from local areas ad resulted in a change in fertilizer. Reporting for Test Plot Chairman H, Hermes, Mr. ' Valiquette remarked on the excellent results and suggested the plot be plowed on contract, each member paying a mominal coverage. This will be considered again as all members were not in agreement. Mrs. N. Hubelit presented the Auditors report taken by herself and V. Hopper.
