Councillor Adamo reported on the first meeting he had attended together with represen tative from Kimberly-Clark N. Cornthwaite and W. Farrell of the Recreation Board and Jack Phillips Rec. Comm. Chairman sitting in. Council discussed the findings of this group concerning the purpose and fulfillment of the Recreation Centre, particularly in the area of the Goncessionaire. Beseiged with com- plaints a year ago, on the high cost of recrea tion, Council's attempts to increase revenue had been rejected. Comparable reports on re- creation in neighboring commmities showed the local recreation with the lowest annual deficit. This statement was contested by Councillor Adamo who promised to personally investigate the figures. Complaints this fall concerned the time and availability of services for local residents. The situatimhad eased with the ending of tourist season, but Reeve Heenan will list Council's recommendations for Councillor Adamo to present at the next meeting of this committee, on November 19th. Councillor Valiquette felt there must be co- operation between Council and the Recreation Committee and, as there were already two re- presentatives of Council on the Committee, it should be left to them to decide.
