Gentlemens I beg to submit my annual report upon the health and sanitary conditions of our com- munity for the year ending December 31,1962. In general, we have once again been for~ tunate during the year in having very little infectious disease. The health of the com. munity has been good, As in past years, examination of new pupils was done at both grade schools and the program of immunization for all pupils was carried out against polio, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. The school nurse Mrs. Lois Hopper, made frequent visits to the schools for vision tests, immunization and search for any health abnormalities. Immunization of infants and pre-school children was done as usual at the hospital. The program of adult polio immunization has continued here as well. " There were minor outbreaks of Measles, German Measles, Chicken Pox and Mumps. There were no cases of Scarlet Fever, Polio, Diph- theria or Whooping Cough. One case of adult CURLING CLUB WHDUP The annual Curling Club windup dinner and dance will be held in the Moose 'all Saturday , June lst. Following is the schedule of events: Pre-Dinner Social - 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, in Club Lounge. 'This social is for invited guests, trophy donors and members of the club executive Dinner ~ will be served in the Moose 'all at 6:30 p.m, Refreshments will be available and prizes and trophies will be on display prior to the dinner, Presentation of trophies and prizes will be made to streamline this procedure to take as little time as possible. The sanitary facilities of the local service stations were inspected and found to be good. The lunch counter at the Recreation Centr and the Plaza Restaurant were inspected on several occasions and bacterial counts done on cutlery, plates and glassware. The North Camp dormitories, kitchen, dining hall and food storage were inspected weekly throughout the year. All water samples submitted from the town supply were reported as excellent by the Provincial Laboratory. During 1962, there were 50 births to residents of Terrace Bay in our hospital and a total of 126 births, There was one adult death during the year and no stillbirths.
