July 6, 1961 PLAYGROUND PROGRAMME The Summer Playground Programme opened with a bang last Monday and continues Monday to Friday weckly until the end of August. No registration is necessary for Playground, BUT CHILDREN MUST BE OF SCHOOL AGE IN SEPT. BEFORE THEY CAN ATTEND, With so many taking part, it is impossible for the leaders to devote the necessary time to those under school age. Those attending should wear play clothes, as they take part in arts, crafts, games and stunts of all types. Special Events are scheduled every Friday as follows: July 7 - Frontier Day, July 14 - Aqua Day, July 21 - Roman Day, July 28 - Treasure Island Day, Aug. 4 - Playday Picnic, Aug. 11 - Circus Day, Aug. 18 - Indian NIGHT, Aug. 25 - Olympic Sports Day, Aug, 31 - Display and Awards Night, During each week's programme, daily events are run from 9-12 P.M. and from 1-4 P.M., Monday to Friday. Those taking after- noon swim lessons attend in the morning; those NOT taking swim lessons attend in the afternoon. Lynn Scott, a Toronto import was the winner for the Kings, limiting the Comets to 3 hits, He had 10 strikeouts. Rex Taylor suffered;the loss for the Comets although giving up only 4 hits. The first game was completed, but the second game was called off because of rain, Rex Taylor went the distance for the Comets and held the Albions hitless over the last four innings, Terry Stevenson was the losing pitcher giving up 10 hits, The score was tied 3-3 at the end of.two innings, but the Comets managed single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, and won the game 5-3. Farrow the bride chose a street length jacket dress with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. She was attended by Mrs, Louise Smith as Matron of Honor, and Gary Galvin was grooms- man for his cousin. A wedding dinner was held in Spadoni Hotel Schreiber following the ceremony when Grace was said by the Rev, Anderson, Gary Galvin proposed the toast to the bride, Mrs. Ida Krause was in charge of the wedding cake, dainty with rosebuds, the three tiers topped by a miniature bride and groom.
