Town Hall basement, The President, Mrs. 0,Niemi and Mrs. R.A. Crook, welcomed the guests. Convenors were Mesdames R,Macadam and J.Gray. This was the first course of its kind to be held in Schreiber by the Bell Telephone Company and it is notable that six out of the seven eligible to take the course attended. Council. The programme opened with !0 Canada! accompanied by Fred McColeman, followed by a selection given by the Girl's Choir under the direction of Mrs, Alex Gordon and accom- panied by Lois Inshaw. The Rev, R.J.S.Inshaw gave 'the Invocation and Neil Whent welcomed 'those present, A short Play preceded the presentation of suet | al awards which included Curling, Hockey, Football, Track & Field, Cheér Leader, Stu- | dent Council, Drama and Perfect Attendance. Grade IX Academic Awards went to nine honour students, the highest being Cheryl Everett who. attained a 94% average. Grade X had four honour students with Sharon Webb's 77.6% highest. Lois Inshaw with 77% was . | highest _in Grade XI and Carol Holmes topped Grade XI. with 86.5%, Chloe Vanderlip was honoured for her Library work, Physical Training work was displayed by eleven boys and accademic Progress Awards were presented, 2 { A Grade XII graduate, Carol Holmes, deliver- ed a Valedictory address. Special Scholastic Merit Awards (trophies: plus $10,00) were pres ented to Grade 9,10, ll-end-12-students.~ Carol Holmes received the trophy plus100,00 donated by the Canadian Legion for being the most prof- icient senior student. The highest student in (Grade XLII (eight subjects) Ray Guillet was. | the recipient of a Kinsman Award of $50.00, The most proficient.
