T. Baillie for Council, On checking with Secretary-Treasurer Strutt at the Municipal Office on Tuesday afternoon it was learned that J.A,Héenan and F,0,Sough- ton withdrew from the Mayoralty race and that the seven nominees to Council, J,P.Heenan, A.H,Farrow, D,J,Gillis, D,Evans-Smith, J, Duncan, Mrs, M.Gouchard and Wm,T,Baillie had qualified, TOWN HaLL MEETING THURSDAY NIGHT Everyone nominated for Municipal Office is invited by the Terrace Bay Commerce Committee : to appear at a Public Meeting on Thursday, December Ist at 8:30 P,M. in the High School Auditorium, Last year, under the sponsorship of the Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club a very: good Town 'Hall meeting was held. The most interest displayed in some years was shown at the Nominations for Reeve, Council, Public School Board: and Hydro Com- mission when forty-five citizens were present. at the Town Hall, Nominated for Reeve were W,E,D'Arcy, C.P.R. Conductor who seeks re-election and E, (Gino) Caccamo, Merchant, For Council, six were nominated and three are to be elected, Seeking re-election are F,V,Harness, C,P.R, Conductor and J.McGrath, C,P.R, Car man, Also nominated are J,.P.Guina, Locomotive Engineer, Mrs. Inez McCuaig, housewife, 'Leonard A,Hiller, C.P,R.Conductor and Donald G,Beno, Insurance Agent. Three were nominated for the Hydro Com- mission and one is to be elected. They are J.D.Phillips (seaking re-election) - Joseph S.Caccamo, Locomotive Engineer and John E, Stokes, C,.P.R. Conductor, The two vacancies on the School Board were filled by W.J.Furlonger and J.Neil Ross who, when there were no other nominees, were elected by acclamation, By Noon on Tuesday all nominees had quali- fied and confirmed their intentions to run in the election, Election day is Monday, December 12th from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M, in the Town Hall, An Advance Poll will be open on December 8th, ; Sth and 10th from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M, COME OUT AND HEAR THE CANDIDATES Everyone is invited to hear the above can- didates air their view on the public platform at the Town Hall on December 6th at 8:00 P.M. Make it a point to attend and then GET OUT AND VOTE on Election Day, December 12th, If you would like transportation to the Polls on Election Day consult the election Flyer which will be delivered by December 5th, This flyer will outline Municipal pre-election speeches and the election program. Schreiber business men, Merchants and interested citi- zens are sponsoring this service, HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES HONOURED Last Friday night those students who grad- uated from Terrace Bay High School in June and athletic award winners were honoured at the Annual Commencement Exercises and Awards Night. The Invocation by Rev, J.Raymond Anderson was followed by a few brief remarks from the Chairman, Principal A,E,Hartman, He noted the increased enrollment, complimented the graduates and the parents who had encouraged them and read a congratulatory telegram from D.A, Locking, Awards and Trophies were presented first followed by the presentation (Cont'd Page 9)
