Mrs. Jessie Macadam, P.N.G,, introduced Mrs. Mavis Slater, D.D.P. and Mrs, Helen Wallace P.D,D.P., introduced Mrs, Clark, They entered the Lodge room under an Arch of Gladioli blooms held by the guard of honour, Mesdames A,Niemi, B.Macadam, N, Grey, D. Plummer, B, Haughn,S,. Brown, P, Wellings and V,.Linkewich, Mrs.Harriett McBride, soloist, accompanied by Mrs.Agnes Bryson at the piano, sang "May you Always Walk in Sunshine.", Following the introduc- tions Mrs, Beth Macadam presented flowers to the President. Other visitors welcomed were Mrs,C,Wright, Sapphire Lodge and Bro. T.G.Clark, The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Recording Secretary, Mrs. Anna taine, Mrs. Morris gave the Sick & Visiting report, The President then spoke to the members commending them on their opening ceremonies and tkr= welcome she had received upon her arrivai in Schreiber when she had been guest of honour at a dinner at the Mayfair hotel prior to the meeting. She then gave a very inspiring talk on the work of the Order in all its phases, emphasizing Charity and Gcod Fellowship. The Noble Grand extended thanks and, on TERRACE | behalf of the members, presented her with a gift and corsage. Mrs. Clark's husband, who has. accompanied heron her official visits, spoke briefly, Mrs,Mavis Slater also spoke to the members thanking them for their co-operation and kindnesses, Installation of Officers will be held on Wednesday, October 26th. A supper for the outgoing and Incoming Officers will be held ; prior to the meeting at 5:30 P.M, in the United Church Hall, Following the meeting a dainty lunch was served in the lower hall by the Convenor, Mrs. Joy Riley and her committee, A beautiful birthday cake honouring the Lodge's 35th birthday and made by Mrs.Jessie Macadam and iced by Mrs.Agnes Sully centred the table flanked by green candles in Crystal holders, Mrs. Bryson, a charter member, blew out the lighted candles. and Mrs,Legault and Mrs,.Clark cut the cake, All the members sang "Happy Birthday." LONG-TIME SCHREIBER RESIDENT DIES Many people from all walks of life attend- ed the funeral in St. Andrews United Church on Thursday afternoon, October 20th for the late John Hepburn, 75, who passed away on Tuesday in Terrace Bay Private Hospital. The flag was then broken by "Doc" (Donald) Teniuk of the Antelope patrol, Then each patrol broke off for inspection, Some of the patrol leaders from Marathon who arrived for the conference on Saturday and Sunday, joined the meeting. We were then called into the horseshoe; there we were told that we were going to play a game of floor hockey and that we would be split up into two groups, the Lions and the Panthers against the boys from Mara- hon and the Antelopes, The outcome was 3-2 © in favour of the Panthers and Lions. After the game we again returned to our patrol corners to make morse code buzzers. Although we did not get the buzzers hooked up they were very good specimens, By this time the scouts from various parts of the District had arrived for the confer- ence so we had to break off early, We were called into the horseshoe where the flag was lowered by "Doc" Teniuk and received by David Roberts of the Lion Patrol, - BLACK BEAR BANTER (by Ingo: Schmiedchen) At the meeting of October: 20, 1960, twenty boys and four leaders were present, We had an inspection and then set up chairs, .
