LEGION BRANCH 109 ANNUAL BANQUET The Canadian Legion Branch 109 held .their Annual Banquet on November llth in the Town Hall. Gino Caccamo was master of ceremonies and special guests were: J, Gillespie, Zone Commander from Fort William and Mrs, Beatrice Taylor, Past President and Honorary President | -of the Schreiber Legion Auxiliary who resides in Fort William; Rev, Father Cano said Grace, ° the Toast to the Queen was given by Len Hiller Toast to the Fallen by F. Ginn and reports were given by D, Gunter, President, and F, Ginn, ; A Past President's pin was presented to W, Paradis by Mr. Gillespie and Mrs, B, McCuaig was presented with her Past President pin by Mrs. B, Taylors |. The President of the Auxiliary, Mrs. B, Paradis, spoke briefly and Mrs, Bern Whent gave her report from the Ways and Means Comm- ittee and also presented a cheque to the Legion, é A brief but. inspiring talk on Remembrance Day was given by Mr, Gillespie, Members gave a vote of thanks to the Women's Auxiliary of St, Andrew's United Church who catered to the banquet, NEW_RECORD FOR CANADA SAVINGS. BOND SALES Kimberly-Clark. employees in Terrace Bay have demonstrated their faith in Canada and their desire. to save for the future by buying more bonds than ever before' - a record : $110,900. worth. This is-an increase of $5000, over last year's total. The number of buyers increased from 269 last year to 294 this year, This figure rep- resents approximately 50% of our payroll. Hanley were present at the Council Meeting held on November llth, The Council is negotiating for a new location for the Ontario Provincial Police force and heated garage facilities for the police cars. Fire Department and Police reports were received and dealt with.
