Mrs. Jim Duncan with daughters Wendy. and Cheryl hawe returned from two months in Schumacher, Ontario where.the girls trained under Hans Gerschwiler of Winnipeg at the Schmacher Summer Skating School, While there Wendy was successful in passing her Third Figure Test, Preliminary Dances and Bronze Dances while Cheryl passed her First or Bronze test and Two Preliminary Dances, Wendy was unfertunate in being ill at the time she was to appear,in. the Pop Concert but Cheryl made her appearance and quite successfully. judging, by the. fellowing item which appeared in the Timmins, Daily Press: "the evening's program started off on the right note when seven year old Cheryl Duncan from Terrace Bay popped through the, curtains and skated into the spotlights, Like all small girls, Cheryl has the knack of making everyone love her on sight, but she has also considerable promise as a figure skater,!
