HELD Doris Biesenthal councillor for the North Shore Nurses Group attended the semi-annual meeting of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario District No.10 held in Kenora on Saturday, May 30th. An executive meeting was held at the Chalet in Kenora in the afternoon at which a lengthy discussion took place on the fee increase for R.N.A.O., bursary pol- icies and public relations, A dinner was held at the Chalet in the evening. The guest speaker was Mr. Earle, of theC anadian Council Christians and Jews, who gave a most inspiring address on the important position available to nurses through their profession with regards to public relations, Miss Camilla Collins, Miss Alvera Wood, -- and Mrs, Nora Peters attended the F.W.T.A.0. meeting at Alexander Public School, Marathon, last Saturday, May 30th, We wish to welcome to the Terrace Bay Hospital Nursing Staff Miss Gladys Oatway who arrived on May 5th, also a welcome to Mrs. Martha Strome who is replacing Mrs. Irene Jolin. Upon leaving, Mrs. Jolin was present- ed with a farewell gift along with the best wishes of the hospital staff, Rudy & Doris Gerlach with sons Jimmy, Ricky, Michael & Mark have returned from a week's vacation spent in Eagle River with Doris! parents, Mr. & Mrs, E, Montey and in Sioux Lookout with her sister, Mrs, Angus Brunton and family, Mrs. Ernie Kettle with daughter Rosalie, has returned home after spending some time in Toronto where Rosalie was a patient at Sick Children's Hospital. Bingo and a variety of games were played and the two hostesses assisted by Mrs. Dolly Sitko and Mrs. Joyce Mercier served a delightful luncheon. Mrs, Steffie Dorman & Mrs, Marge De jongh were a surprised pair when a combined Stork Shower was held last Wednesday evening at the Thorsteinson home, Hostesses were Mrs.K. Thorsteinson, Mrs. D, Burnside & Mrs, M. . Godin. Each received their gifts from dec~, orated baskets and a social evening was enjoyed before the hostesses served lunch. Mr, & Mrs, Bert Lohr spent the past week | in Oshawa and Toronto and enjoyed a visit with Jack Warriner while in the latter city. Richard Marcella is home for the summer with his parents, Mr, & Mrs, J, Marcella. Richard attended London Teachers College last season and will teach in Sarnia this Fall. A surprise farewell party was held for Cathy Smith at the home of Mr. & Mrs. E, Cavanaugh on May 26th.
