Thingstad of Ft,William and Mrs, C.D,Riley of Pt.Arthur, Home & School representatives. Mrs.Riley mentioned the leadership course being offered on May 22-23--24th at Quetico Lake to which any home and school member will be welcomed, At this meeting sixty-five became Charter members. HOLY ANGELS (Cont'd from Page 6) was asked to attend the convention in Toronto on March 31st. The annual Hot Cross bun sale will be held 6n March 26th with Mrs.Bob Spadoni in charge. Mrs.J.Speziale was named hostess forthe April lunch and T, Borutski programme convenor, The room prize was won by Mrs.Verdone. At the close of the meeting a film, Sabiola, was shown and lunch served by Mrs.R.Bedard and her committee. Mrs.Fred Hiller and Bill Spicer are in Terrace Bay Hospital; Mrs.Geo.Birch is in St.Joseph's Hospital, Port Arthur. HIGH JINKS AT LEGION ON ST.PATRICK!S There were high jinks at the Legion on. St.Patrick's night when a bevy of Irish coll- eens made an uproariously funny appearance; their dress, no whit better than their hoarse and husky voices as they each delivered a solo--over the vehement protests of the crowd. In the parade of beauties were Peggy O'Neil (Dave Gunter), My Wild Irish Rose (Frank MacDonald) Molly Malone (Paul Pegoraro) two' Kathleens (Jack Hepburn and Pic McCouan) and, a very unmatronly Mother MaChree (Geo, Gosher) who toted a flask, peered through opera glasses and wore a white wig much askew. This outre assembly were managed by B. Paradis, assisted by Lil MacDonald. Music for the evening was provided by Ro¢s Wilson, organ, Mike Churney fiddle and George Churney, accord ion, Solos were given by Isabel Delaronde and Penny Caccamo, It was an O'Keefe night an Russell Campbell presented and thanked Waikko Kivisto, host for the evening, There was a capacity crowd with many from Terrace Bay attending, Mark Doig of Trenton, drew the ticket for the ham with Gloriajean Ilijow of Nipigon winning. The modish fashions shown were by courtesy of the Hudson's Bay Company, Terrace Bay and models were as follows:- Mesdames R,Sisson, C,Sparkes, D,Weberg, { Mrs.H.O'Brien, Sharon Gellert, Bonnie Gordon Lynn Joliceur and Mark Caccamo. Mrs.R.H, Skinner was Commentator and mystery prizes | were won by Mrs, I.Jacomb, Mrs.R.Bedard, E.Ballard, Miss E.Howard, Miss T.Begaqua } and Mrs.H.Christie: the prizes were donated ' by Chapples Ltd., Spadoni's, Dresswell Cleaners, McGills, Waghorn Pharmacy,Flo's Beauty Shop. Mrs.Frank Groves received and door prize: was won by Mrs.Vanderlip. OthetS working included Mesdames A.Moorey, L.Christie, W.Davie, W.Collins, D.Nesbitt, C.Duggan, R.G.MacAdam, H.Gellert, J.Hagen, W.D.Graham, H.Duggan, A.Gordon, L.Godin, D.McLellan and Keg. Bailey. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE PLAN FOR DISTRICT ANNUAL Mrs. W.Thrower presided for the regular March meeting of the Women's Institute with twelve members present. Mrs. D.Slater read the minutes and correspondence in the ab- sence of Mrs. W.D.Graham. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. R.G.Macadam. A letter was received from the district secre- tary regarding details of the district annual: being held in Schreiber on May 14th and a reply sent, A letter was sent to each of the local Churches women's groups asking quotations on providing a luncheon for the annual meet- ing of the institute. Mrs.Alex Lamb's resignation as card secretary was accepted with regret, Mrs,Lamb having held the office | for many years, Mrs. W.J.Scott volunteered | to take over the duties. Mrs.0O!Connor had all the time- honoured Irish symbols, shamrocks, clay pipes and harps on her table and lumch was served by Mrs.Corbett, Mrs.Whutton, Mrs. Linkwich and Mrs. J.D.Briyson. used so widely by swimmers, boaters and fishermen, it is gratifying to see the work being done by municipal recreation committee and other agencies to reduce water accidents. : The response to the water safety instructor | courses being held this spring is far beyond | what we had expected" Mr.,Mungham said.
