Harris returned Monday to her home in Smith Falls, Ontario after spending the past week visiting her daughter and son-in- law, Audrey and Jim Kowley and children, Janie Valiquette was hostess on Friday afternoon, when seven girl friends arrived to assist in her seventh birthday celebration.. Games were played and movies taken of the group, before they had the birthday luncheon and left for home with their prizes, treats and balloons. A birthday party was held on the 15th of May for Mary Jane Hopper on the occasion of her eighth birthday. Games were played and the twelve girls sat down to supper and later -left for home with their favors. Miss Mavis Thorsteinson, a bride-elect of June 7th, was the guest of honour on Monday evening , May 12th at a Miscellaneous Shower in the Terrace Bay Curling Lounge. The Lounge was beautifully decorated with balloons and streamers of pink and white. Gifts from the fifty-five persons attending were presented by Dodie Burnside and Brenda MacDonald in a basket decorated in white with pink flowers, On her arrival Mavis was pres- ented with a corsage of red roses, Hostesses for the shower were: Dodie Burnside, Lucille Diduch, Freda Heinrich, Joan Brearley, Steffie Dorman, Vicki Synishin, Carol Lindquist; 'Brenda MacDonald and Liz Burns.
