AMATEUR SHOW Misses Dianne Slater.. and Audrey Gawley, two High School girls from Schreiber, copped the top prize at the Knights' of Columbus: amateur Show Saturday evening in,the Terrace Bay High: School Auditorium. Their: delightful harmonizing of "Croce Dioro" and "He's Got the Whole World" earned them the Trophy 'presented annually by the Knights of Columbus to the top competitor among the winners in each of the three divisions. Mr..Joe Heenan M.C.'d the program through seventy contestants of the District coming from: Kessport, Schreiber and Terrace Bay and divided into groups of A - Elementary School to age nine and, B - Elementary School. age ten and up, and C - High School students. Masterminded by Chairman Bill Sernesky, the Fourth Annual Knights of Columbus amateur Show committee were grateful for the careful selections of winners by Judges Mrs. D'Arcy ~ McGuire, Mrs. Lester McCuaig of Schreiber; Mrs, Dave Locking and Norm:Coan of Terrace Bay, Onarkne intermission Mes: 'June Balock of Schreiber entertained: by singing "I've Lost You to a Geisha Girl," "Falsom Frison Blues" and."I Can't Quit" accompanying herself on the guitar. Among the accompanists for the contestants were Carol Lalonde, Thilip ' Moorey, Miss Kuth Chartrand, Mrs. Dave Locking and Fat Mulligan, .Group A winners were: lst - A trio of dancers from Schreiber's Holy angels School, Francis, Teresa, and nosa Speziale .with their performance of the Irish Lilt; °: 2nd: - Vocal solo - Susan Caldwell, age nine of Schreiber rublic School who sang "It is Not a.Secret" and "He's Got the Whole World"; 3rd - & piano solo - "Snowshoeing" by Joanne Brown age eight of Terrace Bay Public School. Special mention went to little Vicki Locking age four for her own rendition of Ne che iit " Winners of Bente Bo were? ae - Margaret Dale Locking age ten of Terrace Bay Fublic School for. her piano solo "Yellow sutterfly"; 2nd Bonnie Long age twelve of Terrace Bay's St. Martin's Separate School with a dazzling baton twirling display; 3rd - William Scott age. twelve of Schreiber's Holy Angels School who played "Musical Trek" on the piano, Group C honours went to: Vie" Daan 'SUnteL and diudrey' Gawley, age: seventeen, of Schreiber High, for their vocal duet; 2nd. Lois Inshaw™ age thirteen, also of Schreiber High, for her rendition of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake on the piano and 3rd - again a Schreiber student Dale Willoughby, age seventeen, who sang "Julie" and accompanied himself on the guitar.
