SAFETY STEEPLECHASE ENDS-NEW CONTEST STARTS SaTUROAY The current Safety Steeplechase Contest will end at midnight on Friday (September 30th), Winners will be announced 'in next week's Terrace Bay News. A new contest will immediately get underway based on a hockey theme, In the new contest there will be six teams each with a National Hockey League name, Here's the line-up: "Maple Leafs" - Wood Handling "Rangers" - Pulp Dept. "Canadiens" - Engineering Verwing! - services "Red Wings" ~ Townsite "Black Hawks" - Tech, & Admin, Office During the schedule, each team will play every other team twice. With each three period game running over a three- week period (one week per period) the schedule will run until next April 27th. The current steeplechase board will be rigged so that scores of all current games will be posted weekly, There'll be credits for every day a unit works safely (one er per ay per man). Penalties will be simpler Major Penalty (lost-time accident) - a zero score to the team involved for three periods of the game, Misconduct Penalty (unreported accid- ent) - a zero score to the team involved : for two periods of the game, Minor Penalty - (Doctor care case)- a zero score to the team involved for one period. (Each doctor care case in a game to count as a penalty.) Goals scored will be computed by dividing credits by 200 to bring things in line with usual hockey scores.
