Volume 5, No» 27 TENNIS TOURNAMENT-SATURDAY, JULY i On Saturday, July 9th a number of tennis players from Marathon will be paying a visit to our local club, Games will start at 10:00 a.m, and the matches will go on until 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon, Play' wild featuré-ladies singles, men's singles and mixed doubles, The executive are hoping that there will be a fine turnout from among' our local members, If you are not available for the morning draw make a point to come out in the afternoon. Featured in the main event will be Don Evans and Dinty Parks, Parks is one of the better knomwrestlers in Northern Ontario and a guaranteed crowd pleaser, Evans is no novice at the mat game and knows a number of tricks (most of which are probably illegal) that can put an opponent out of commission for the evening, The bout will go two out of three falls with a sixty minute time limit. Joe McCarthy goes against Dory Funk in the semi-final and Toni Morelli tangles with Bill Brooks in the opener, Both these matches will be one fall with a thirty minute time limit, Prices have been marked down since last time and are now: Ringside 1.25, other seats 1.00, Ladies ,75, children .50.
