During these times, what with competition based on a "no handicap", our team was edged out by a small margin. : Confidence in taking away from the Lakehead for the first time this famous trophy is at a high level, Reason for this, is that the bowling tournament this season is on a handicap basis; and our boys feel that with a good night. of rolling combined with their handicap, the trophy ° cabinet in the community centre will have to make room for the Hogarth Trophy. Teams representing Terrace Bay the evening of April 22nd at Matt's Alleys will consist of Bill Borsum, Bob Rickard, Joe Shubaly, Clarence Buck and Leon Checkryn on one team and Francis Hanna, John Graham Verl Thompson, Sax Lundberg and Pete Diduch on the other, These teams will be sponsored by Leon's Bowling, Billiards and (Cont. on next col,) Page 4 TEN PIN TEAMS. In all, sixteen district and lakehead teams will be competing, Following a night at the alleys, our teams will be feted at a complimentary party arranged by the Northern Engineering and Supply Co. Ltd. of Fort William, In conjunction with this series, the scores attained by Terrace Bay will also be used in the Kimberly-Clark Inter Mill Competition, which covers 10 U.S.- mills with a total of 16 teams. partaking for the mythical Kimberly-Clark Bowling Championship, : 0-0-0 MIXED LEAGUE A Wanderers by picking up 13 points Tuesday night increased their lead over the Beavers by 7 point. Thistles picked up 14 points to put them in a tie for llth spot with the Essos. Pin Dusters and the Teachers held their own and although the Superiors picked up 11 points they were unable to advance their position... The Beavers led by-S. Yaromey with a nice 324 and helped along by C. Buck with scores of 168, 290, 249: for hi series of the week took the hi single scratch (1120), w/hdep (1227) and hi triple scratch (2670) and w/hdep (2991). O. Harrison was the big noise for the ladies taking the hi single with 278 and. added 275 and 211 for hi series of 764. Some of the better scores for the night were S. Keller 223, P. Dowling 212, Ry Corrigan 200 and L, Swirhun 233.
