SCHREIBER LADIES DEFEAT TERRACE "LADIES: A crowd of over 400 persons attended the game on Sunday, March 20, 1955 to witness the first game between the « Schreiber Ladies and the Terrace Bay Ladies Hockey teams which resulted in a 6 to 3 win for the Schreiber Squad. The game was exceptionally well played, and everyone in attendance were perfectly satisfied with the type of hockey that was played, saying it was a treat after the slam-bang North Shore League play. Schreiber had the edge on the play, built up by better passing plays, while the Terrace Bay squad attempted individual rushes which usually ended up in the corners, Standouts for Terrace Bay were Vezina, Black and Todd, while for the Schreiber club, Riley, Duggan, and Nesbitt, played a stellar game. Everyone is waiting for the next meeting of these two teams, which is to take place in the Terrace Bay Arena on the Gala Hockey Night, April 9th, at 8:00 p.m Lineups Schreiber: B,. O-0-0 °°, KIWANIS HuAR BELL PHONE EXECUTIVE On Tuesday evening the members of the Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club were priveleged to hear an address by Mr. Les Brodie, Commercial Development Supervisor of the Bell Telephone Company Limited, . Mr, Brodie showed the group some of the future news inthe telephone industry. His main talk was concerned with new methods for making and billing long distance calls. In the not too distant future you will be able to pick up your telephone and dial Aunt Emily in Chicago direct from your own home. The billing will be recorded and transmitted to your account by means of electronic tape. KIWANIS KARNIVAL BIG SUCCESS Last Saturday 800 people witnessed the first Kiwanis Karnival and Ice Show in the new arena, _ From the excellent figure skating show produced by Mrs. Pattison and her group of skating experts to the midget hockey game between Geraldton and Terrace Bay the program ran -smoothly and appeared to be enjoyed by all.
