LARGEST CIRCULATION IN TERRACE BAY OFFICERS ELECTED FOR THE LOCAL ASSOCIATION GUIDES AND BROWNIES The annual meeting of the Local Assoc- lation of Guides and Brownies, was held in the Activities Room of the Recreation Centre on February 28, 1955, Mrs. V. Hopper opened the meeting with a word of welcome to the ladies, It was announced at this meeting that Mrs. George Maitland was appointed Commissioner of the Guides and Brownies for Schreiber, Marathon, and Terrace Bay, The election of officers for 1955 took place with Mrs. E, Brady and Mrs, P. Gombola acting as scrutineers, The following executive was elected: Vice Chairman: Mrs. George Clifford, Rec. Secretary and Treasurer: Mrs, J. Todd, Corresponding Secretary, Mrs. J, Marcella, Badge Secretary: iirs. M. McCausland Uniform Convenor: Mrs. D. Boudreau Publicity Convenor: Mrs. L. 0. Walker Camp.Convenor: Mrs. E, Pineault Ways and Means: Mrs, D, Porter Social Convenor: Mrs. Wm. Cavanaugh Cookie Day Convenor: Mrs, Art LeBlanc A note of thanks here to the nominating committee - Mrs. H, McKechnie, Mrs. D, Locking and Mrs, C. Demas, A hearty thanks also to the outgoing executive. The task of forming a new or- ganization is a huge one, so we would like to say "Congratulations" on a job well done} Mrs, MacMillan, Mrs, Mikus and Miss Meek each submitted a very wellwritten yearly report on the activities of Guides and Brownies up to date, parts of which are as follows: Capt. MacMillan - Guides - 21 guides now enrolled, 15 Second class guides 6 tenderfoot guides. ( Cont. on next col.) Eight Proficiency Badges were won as follows: 2 Skater Badges 1 Minstrel Badge 3 House Orderly Badges 1 Athlete. Badge 1 Writer Badge Brown Owl Meek - 2nd Pack Terrace Bay Brownies Strength of pack is now 23 Brownies and 2 Tweenies. During the year eleven Golden Bars were earned, There are eleven working for Golden Hand, Our Thinking Day Tea brought in $25.00 We sold 75 I1.0.D.E. Cook Books and have orders for 25 more. Mothers Note: We have room for two more Tweenies 2nd Pack Terrace Bay Brownies. There will be a meeting of the new Executive at the home of Mrs. G.
