TERRACE BAY LEADS IN N.S.H.L. Despite the injury to Osmar, one of the key trigger men on the Superiors, which still keeps him out of the line-up the local boys managed to stay right up with the leaders as they downed Schreiber by an 8-3 score last Thursday night. This put our boys one point up in the race for leadership but with Nipigon playing a double header over the weekend and having three games in hand this lead could be changed before our "Soups" hit the ice again, Actually the game wasn't much as far as good hockey goes but there were plenty of thrills and spills for a fair sized crowd to yell about. The game was livened up in the third period somewhat by a combination of a Tango and a wrestling match between Jack Lang and . Figliomeni of the Diesels and a few well aimed punches by Brassard at Cosgrove. Pete Diduch played his best game of the season as he rapped in 4 goals enough to win the game and a hair cut -from Maurice, Jim Moro played his usual good game and picked up 2 goals, Bond and Brassard completed the scoring for Terrace. The Terrace defence played well as a unit and never allowed Schreiber much chance to get to Weaver, For Schreiber Tookenay, Ross and Bottomley had one goal, SUPERIORS REGAIN LEAGUE LEAD IN SCHREIBER Tuesday night in Schreiber the Sup- eriors came out on the long ond of a 5-3 score in a game which saw the referee's really cracking down on rough play. With one or the other teams practically always short handed due to the strict enforcement of rules play tended to be ragged with players shooting the puck the length of the ice continually, Moro opened the scoring for Terrace in the first period on a nice slap shot and the "Soups" were never headed from there on. Actually after this goal the game was never in to much doubt, even with Terrace two men short at time Schreiber never showed much in the way of scoring power, Jack Lang and Tookenay did a little (Cont. on next col.) Page & SUPERIORS REGAIN LEAGUE LEAD IN SCHREIBER sparring in the third period. They received minors for roughing. Jim Moro came through with 3 goals, Lang one and Knight one, ICE CHIPS Latest unofficial individual scoring statistics show Osmar and Moro of the Sup- eriors leading all scorers by a fairly comfortable margin. Osmar has started skating on his injured leg and should be back in line-up soon, How come league governors accept referee's as competent and then allow some teams to bar them from refereeing their games?
