This in no way diminishes our pleasure in responding to the appeal to help prevent tuberculosis. Actually it enhances it, for the task of preventing tuberculosis is so enormous that it would be overwhelming if there were not thousands of Santas digging into their packs or pockets, There's an innovation this year---two seals, but still on one sheet. They are very fetching, The children on one seal join hands with those on the next, so the design is continuous though the seals are different. It's a good idea to have children on the Christmas Seal fairly often. It keeps us reminded that we are working for the future of ten or twenty years from now as well as next year and the year after, Tuberculosis is a tough, stubborn enemy, deeply entrenched, The methods of treating it have improved almost miraculously, for which we cannot be too thankful or grateful, All the same, what we really want is not to need the treatment, wonder- ful bhough it is, Those who benefit from it are rather like victims of a bad accident who find that a plastic surgeon can effacc the scars, They are thankful, but just the same they would rather not have been in the crash, Treatment is mainly the doctors! concern but prevention is the responsibility of us all, The tuberculosis Association needs help in many ways, and if you visit their offices you will likely be given a job. Meanwhile, though you may be rushed with holiday preparations there is something you can do right now---~you can answer the letter to Santa which brough+ the Christmas Seals, You can. be Santa, BUY AND USE CHRISTMAS SEALS 0-0-0
