FIRST CONCERT HELD OCTOBER 27TH The first concert of the Department of Education Concert Series was presented to an appreciative audience in the Con- tinuat ion: School Auditorium last Wed- nesday, October 27th, The artists were introduced by Mrs. H. Marsh, a very pleasing evening of music was enjoyed by all who attended and the committee hopes that many more will take advantage of this opportunity to hear these fine artists. We are sure that all who attend will find each concert more enjoyable than the one before, for this is music that growh on one with the classical type varied with the lighter, more popular variety. The second presentation will be on November 24th, and we on that date will have for you Vaclovas Verikaitis, bass; Klemi Hambourg, violinist; Lafia Zurbrach, soprano and Ruth eres pianist. Mr. Verikaitis was born in Lithuania and studied in Wilna, coming to Canada five years ago where he studied with Dr, Vinci at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and singing in the Opera Festival at the Royal Alex- andra Theatre in the operas "Magic Flute" and "Manon", Mr, Verikaitis is now singing over radio station C BC in the programme "Songs of my People".
