MEN'S FIVE PIN LEAGUE ; After a slow start the boys from the ~ Steam pulled the throttle open and really went to town on the Snowbanks to take 3 pts. and put themselves in the lead going into the home stretch of the 4th and final series. The only consolation the Snowbanks had was that they rolled the high single of the week with a nice 1121. Although it wasn't nec- essary, the Rat Portage boys came up with scores of 1043, 897 & 1019 for hi triple of 2959. P. Diduch with 221, 236, 264 for 721 (hi triple) and P, Malashewski with 213, 214, 212 (669) were the big boys for the Rats, The Hydro put on the power to take 4 points from the Cats' to keep in the race for a play- off spot. The Whizbangs, not to be left out of the picture toppled them over to beat the seratch score of the Barber Greenes and stay tied with the Hydro, To C. Buck goes the hi single for the week with a round 300 and to R, Black goes the honour score for the night and the season a nice 45. Other good scores for the night were L. Edmunds 201, E. The double trio from the Continuation School, and the Senior Girl's Choir from the Separate and Public Schools sang their fest- ival numbers, Miss McAdam and Miss Honer, accompanist, were presented with flowers and gifts by the girls. Mr. Ray Kenney, Principal of the Sep- arate School, introduced Mr, W, Bittle, Conservation Officer for the Department of Lands and Forests, who was guest speaker for the evening. Following a discussion on the conservation of wild life for our own enjoyment, lir.
