Page 4 AFTERNOON TEA AND BAKE SALE TO BE SPONSORED BY KIWANIS CLUB An event, unique in the : annals of local afternoon teas and bake sales will be held at Hotel Terrace on Saturday afternoon, May 20th from 230) CO) SRO. Belle Sponsored by the local Kiwanis Club as a project to raise funds for community efforts, it is expected that a large crowd will be on hand to see Kiwanis members perform- ing the usual duties carried out by ladies at their afternoon events, It should be a riot, Everyone in the community is invited to attend and no charge will be made, As is the usual custom at such affairs, a collection will be taken as the only means of revenue at the tea proper, While details have not been completed as yet, a bake sale is being planned in con- junction with the tea and one feature is expected to be a baking contest in which Kiwanis members will enter their best baking efforts (with no assistance from the wife). Some interesting entries are expected, We want to stress the fact that everyone is invited and the more the merrier. That is Sway a goed place to start, 0-0-0 ST, MARTIN'S LADIESt GUILD A Bridge and 500 Party, for which you make up your own four- some, will be sponsored by the Guild at Hotel Terrace on Friday, May 12th, Tickets will be 50¢ each and will include lunch, 0-0-0 NAVAL RE-UNION PARTY On Friday last a general meeting was held ef all ex-Naval and Mer- chant Marine personnel and the following points were agreed on: (1) The Re-Union "do" will start off with a "Stag" Banquet at the Hotel Terrace on Saturday, June 10/50, commencing at 1830 hours. (2) It was decided to leave the matter of whether a "Stag" or "Mixed" Party was to be held at the Legion Hall immediately following the banquet, until this coming Friday night in order to allow the following men te seund out those eligible for this party and get their preference on this particular item: Alex Chisholm, Bob Wallwin, Eldon Marostica and John Holancin.
