Volume 3 No. 50 LARGEST CIRCULATION IN TERRACE BA FIRST LABOUR AGREEMENT NEGOTIATED AT TERRACE BAY Officers of the International Pulp Sulphite, and Papermill Workers Union and the Management of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company met at Terrace Bay, in negotiations terminating to-day (December 16th). The all-union shop agreement covers production and maintenance workers totalling 400. men, By the terms of the agreement, the conditions of employment, wage rates, and benefits prevailing in operations of this nature are established, ' The International Union was represented by lst Vice-President WW. H. Burnell, International Representative Henry A. Bell, and Terrace Bay Local 665 was represented by a negotiating committee composed of Daniel J, Gillis, Terence 0. Cochrane, Frank W, Burnell, Louis A. White, J. Edward McInnes, and Allen W. Stevens. Both Union and Company officials express satisfaction with the terms of the settlement reached in the friendly atmosphere which is common to the labour-management relationship in the paper industry. PANY: As reported above, the management of the Company has just concluded a labour agreement with the International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill \orkers. In order to accomplish the purpose of the Agreement, the Company recognizes this Union as the agency representing all employees who are eligible for membership, for the purpose of collective bargaining. All employees working on operations, maintenance, townsite maintenance, and garage, (excepting superintendents, foremen, woods employees, gatemen and watchmen) are eligible for membership and as a condition of continued employment shall join and maintain membership in this Union, New employees will. be required to join within thirty days.
