AUXILIARY HELD CHRISTMAS BAZAAR AND AFTERNOON TEA The Ladies! Auxiliary of the Terrace Bay Community Church held:a very successful Christmas Bazaar and Afternoon Tea in the Recreation Centre on Wednesday afternoon, November 24th. Numerous hand made articles on gaily decorated tables found ready sale as well as articles on the White Elephant and Apron tables. Many novelties and favours offered for sale were also the centre of attention. i The tea table, with its centre-piece of evergreen bows and gaily coloured Christmas balls was flanked with green tapers and tea was poured by the president, Mrs. R. Ostling, and the general convener Mrs. L. Martin. Tea hostesses were Mrs. W. Covington, Mrs. R. Wood, . Mrs. E, Veitch, lirs. S. Hodgkiss, Mrs. R. Seed, lirs. D. Husband, ' Mrs. C. Simmer, lirs. G. Coulter, lirs. R. Buck and Mrs. Milo Martin. The Christmas cake donated by Mrs, R. Harris was won by Mrs. W. Covington in e weight-guessing contest. Mrs. R, Ostling was convener of the Knitting Table and was assisted by Mrs. M. R. Lemon. The Bake Table conveners were Mrs. J. Graham and Mrs. R. Harris assisted by Mrs. J. Mikus. Convener of the Apron Table was Mrs. E. Manders assisted by Mrs, D. C. Porter and Mrs, D. McDonald. At the Novelty Table the convener was Mrs. D. Colquhoun who was assisted by Mrs. G. Maitland, Mrs. C. E. Paget and Mrs. F. 0. Soughton. Tea Table conveners included Mrs. H, CG. Leundy and Mrs. P. C. Kirkpatrick assisted by Mrs. R. Wallwin. Convener of the White Elephant Table was Mrs. H. Marsh assisted by Mrs. G. Paget. Ladies of the Auxiliary would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for the splendid cooperation which made the Bazaar and Afternoon Tea such a success. 0-0-0 HOCKEY NEWS The Name-the-Team Contest being sponsored by the Terrace Bay Hockey Association in an effort to find e suitable name for the North Shore Hockey Team has already brought a number of suggestions and those interested in submitting names may do so until Tuesday, November 30th at midnight. The person submitting the winning neme will receive a free pass to the local theatre good for one month. Judges for the contest will be members of the Hockey Executive who will not be permitted to submit entries. : Entry blanks for the coritest may be obtained at the Box Office of the Theatre, from Harry Ganja in the Engineering Office or at the Receptionist's Desk in the idministration Building. Newcomers to Terrace Bay who would like to play hockey during the coming season in the House League are requested to leave their names with eny member of the Hockey Executive: Bill Borsum, Harold Marsh, Eldon Marostica, Dave McDonald and Harry Ganja. o«+0=0 BUS SCHEDULE REVISED AND FURTHER EXTENDED Bus service at Terrace Bay, operated by International Trensit Co. will -be extended commencing December lst. to include an enlarged "Townsite Loop" which will take in the Hudson Drive curve, MacDonald Avenue and the North half of Kenogami Road. In all, there will be eight scheduled townsite stops instead of the four as at present. On and after December Ist a flat fare of 10¢ per ride will be charged by the Bus Company for service between the "Townsite Loop" and the Millsite, The revised schedule and details covering the enlerged "Townsite Loop" are published on page 4 of this paper, and everyone using bus service is urged to save the schedule for future reference. a? ii 0-0-0 weer MANY A MAN WHO HAS TAKEN 4.
