Oo-0-0 MART: ¥'S ORCHESTRA VISITED TERRACE BAY Canada's 'Number One! dance banc, Mart oe eae Kenney and his orchestra, played for a dance at Terrace Bay on Tuesday evening September 7th and it was quite a gala affoir. Held in the Recreation Hall, the event was co-sponsored by the Terrace Bay Tennis and Prtmiubon Clubs. A capacity crowd was on hand to dance to the music of the famous L5-niec. band which is known from coast to coast in Ganada and throughout many parts of the United Susie Featured with the orchestra were the regulars, Roy Roberts, Norma Locke and The Quartcttc. The Mart Kenney aggregation arrived at Terrace Bay in their special coach carly Tucsday morning. During the day the group had en opportunity of secing both the Hydro and Tcrmace Bay projects and from all reports were very much impressed with what they. saw. One regret expressed by many in the group Was the fact that time would not permit a session at fishing in local waters. Apparently some of Terrace Bay's better fish stories are circwlabing abeub the country. Mart Kenney's personal appearance Was arranged as a stop-over on @ trip which _ will take the orchestra as far as the west coast. In the future we hope that it will be possible to arrange stop-overs whenever the orchestra is passing through. Having Mart Kenney and his band was a real event for Terrace Bay and one that will live long in the memories of those who were able to atten ths) fren
