ee ee ee CORNER STONE LAID BY LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR LAWSON Terrace Bay had her biggest day to date on Tuesday June 8th. The occasion, the laying of the cornerstone at the Millsite, was marked by an official visit from the King's representative in Ontario, His Honour, Lieutenant-Governor Ray Lawson, 0.B.H., L.L.D. and Mrs, Lawson. Accompanying the Lieutenant-Governor and his wife in the Vice-Regal party as Aide-de-camp was Lt.-Col. W. E. Whelpton, 0O.B.E. Robert H. Saunders, Chairman of the Ontario Hydro Electric Power Commission flew in by special plane which landed on Lake Superior near Terrace Bay. Cola G. Parker, President of Kimberly-Clark Corporation and LongLec Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd, had arrived at Terrace Bay Mondey evening with Mrs. Parker after a flight from Neenah, Wisconsin to Fort William. a Other distinguished visitors came to Terrace Bay for the ceremony from near and far by plane, train, bus and automobile. The Vice-Regal party was officially met at the station shortly after 8:50 a.m. and from then until the close of the banquet tendered His Honour, which ended about 11:30 p.m., the dey was filled with activity. Shortly after the official welcome at Terrace Bay, a party including Licutenant-Governor Lawson left for Schreiber for a short visit, while other visitors were escorted to Azuasabon Falls. Saunders and Cola G. Parker as special speakers. At the meeting it was announced by the chairman H. S.
