SOFTBALL DOINGS Last Friday night the men met for the first time this season to discuss ; plans for the forthcoming ball season and a temporary committee was elected consisting of: Chairman Ed Cavanaugh, Don Gow, Danny Cameron, Charlie Simmer and Russ Lecour. To elect permanent officers for the season a meeting of the men will be held in the Personnel Office Friday April 30th at 7:00 p.m. All teams planning on entering the house league should be well represented as a strong executive will be required. 000 The Ladies! Softball League held their first executive meeting on Monday April 26th. The names of thirty softball enthusiasts were turned in and it is hoped that this number will be increased. A practice is called for Sunday May 22nd at 3:30 p.m. at the ball diamond. All ladies interested in playingsoftball this season please attend. If any men are interested in coaching the girls softball teams, would they please be present at this practice. Plans are in the making for an all star girl's team to play the Old Timers All Star Mon's Team. The game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon May 9th and should draw a big crew. OD 0 AGUASABON RIVER UP TWELVE FEET Since water in the Aguasabon River started to rise with the spring thaw, the level has come up 12 feet. Much of the increase has occurred during the past 72 hours. In one 14 hour period last Monday there was a rise of 28 inches. It was during this particular period that it was necessary to take speedy action to move the emergency pump at the river just north of the jackisdder location. Thirty-five men worked from 7:00 p.m. Monday to 3:00 a.m, Tuesday toremove the heavy pump from its flooded location and it was not until Wednesday morning that the re- located pump was hooked into the emergency water line thus assuring an adequate supply of water in case of fire.
